02/19/2013 Education Foundation Grants Awarded The most recent grants for iPads and applications were awarded to teachers in the high school, East Coventry Elementary School and French Creek Elementary School. The Education Foundation continues to work with the district to enable classroom teachers to use technology to enhance students’ learning experiences. 01/09/2013 ‘Before Glory’ Written by John R. Barr, Assistant Principal of OJR High School Published by Tate Publishing “Before Glory – How to Create A New Order of Things” Preface: “The Normative Organization”, defines a simplistic system for identifying the existing culture within two different nonprofit organizations. A discussion is presented on a Team Organization and a Public School Organization which utilizes a similar culture initiative in the development of their Vision, Mission and Goals for program success. The culture initiative provides a method of assessment which defines the existing culture within any organization and a method of quantifying this highly intangible concept. It is through the methods of identification, assessment and quantification of an existing culture that an organization will develop the opportunity to create a dynamic system for positive culture change which encourages participation and collaboration from all stakeholders. 09/14/2013 OJREF Children’s Clothing Consignment Sale The OJR Education Foundation is sponsoring a Children’s Clothing Consignment Sale on Saturday, September 14, 2013. The sale will be held from 8:00am to 12:30pm at the OJR Middle School. This is an excellent opportunity for our OJR community to raise funds that benefit students throughout the district. 10/31/2012 Harvest Festival Update Our major fundraiser, the Harvest Festival, featuring our 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off will be held at French Creek Golf Club on November 10th from 6 to 10 PM.
