We're not ashamed to admit it, the Owen J. Roberts Education Foundation could use your help! In fact, as the Foundation operates independently of the district, it is only with the dedicated efforts of volunteers that our mission is successful. Together, with your help, we can make Owen J. Roberts a world-class district that goes well beyond the status quo! |
STUDENTS:
We need your ideas and energy to identify needs and help support the exciting programs underwritten by OJREF. Please participate in the projects supported by OJREF and contact the Foundation if you have a suggestion or a need that requires funding and development not provided by the district.
FACULTY:
OJRSD faculty are generally responsible for applying for and administering the Owen J. Roberts Education Foundation mini-grants. We need you to become involved with the Foundation and bring us ideas to help us to continue to make OJR a world-class district.
COMMUNITY MEMBERS:
The Owen J. Roberts Education Foundation is interested in creating bridges between our students and the community at large. We want to identify resources within the community that can help us achieve our mission by volunteering, sponsoring or mentoring.
|
BUSINESSES:
Did you know that, instead of paying taxes to the state, your business can donate its tax burden to OJREF as an Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC). The Owen J. Roberts Education Foundation is an approved Educational Improvement Organization in Pennsylvania.
Businesses must be authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of PA; be subject to taxes such as Corporate Net Income Tax, Capital Stock Franchise Tax, Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax, etc; and be approved by the State to make contributions under this program.
Under the EITC program, a “contribution” from a business is a donation of cash or the net cost of donated personal property or services. For more details visit the: PA Department of Community and Economic Development EITC or contact OJREF
We have a variety of donation and fundraising options, which would you like to be a part of today?

Save money on your monthly electric bills and support the Education Foundation at the same time by switching your energy supplier to Stream Energy. The Foundation will earn $4 per month for each person who enrolls, for as long as you remain a customer. Your electric bill, emergency service and meter will still be provided by PECO or Met-Ed, but the company that makes that electricity will change, and so will your bill. On average, PECO & MetEd customers save 5% to 10% on their monthly electric costs by switching. |

Odyssey of the mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program. Each year every school in the Owen J Roberts School District participates, and we would like to continue the tradition! We invite you to make a contribution to help raise

Since 2009 OJR high school and middle school have participated in FIRST Robotics, which combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Under strict rules, limited resources, and time limits, teams of 25 students or more are challenged to raise funds, design a team “brand,” hone teamwork skills, and build and program robots to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. Students get to learn from professional engineers, learn and use sophisticated software and hardware and qualify for more than $14.8 million in college scholarships! You can support today by helping to raise funds so our students are able to continue to participate in this competition that serves as a valuable piece of their education.
